Buraphat resort in Chiang Dao is a welcome retreat during the green season with an almost Hobbiton-like landscape. The lustre of the greenish hills and cotton candy clouds glueing themselves to the impressive Doi Luang peak is such solace for the eyes.

Family room with access to the pool
We enjoyed the pool and the large family room in the Camelia section, and room 203 with direct access to the swimming pool.
The blue cafe offered more than decent coffee, and the breakfast was filling but not overwhelming.
Buraphat sees a lot of visitors during the high season from November to February, but when we were there, only a few rooms were occupied, and the first night we had the new pool all for ourselves.
We found it easy to get to the resort and out on the main road again. It was close to good restaurants and coffee shops as well as Chiang Dao cave and the hot springs in Chiang Dao.
We will be back but probably not during high season but again when the eyes can enjoy the smooth soothering hills, standing in the pool with a great panoramic frame of Northern Thailand’s majestic mountains.
